We believe Chile can be a better country if it seeks its development through knowledge. And we are convinced that the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile has the responsibility to decisively contribute to making it possible.
For decades, we have trained extraordinary leaders, developed excellent research, and built a recognized reputation in Chile and worldwide. But we must also acknowledge that many times we have not been emphatic enough in connecting these capabilities with the country’s needs. We have failed to more actively involve our alumni, who represent one of the greatest forces of transformation for Chile. We have failed to create more spaces where the State, academia, businesses, and civil society collaborate to address the global challenges of our time. And we have failed to more decisively put our knowledge, creation, and reflection capabilities at the service of these concerns of the people.
Transforming Chile is born with the hope of generating change. Because a university does not transform a country on its own, but it can convene, connect, and mobilize those who want to build, together, a better future for Chile.
The country we want
Our society faces profound social, economic, environmental, technological, and above all, values-based challenges.
