UC INITIATIVES
UC Initiatives proposes a broad, cross-cutting, and interdisciplinary collaboration system between the university and partner organizations.
About the Project
Unlike traditional academic structures, these initiatives are characterized by their flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to public impact. They can integrate professorships, training programs, research, creation, knowledge transfer, and community engagement under a common strategic vision, allowing UC to work with external stakeholders in sustained impact relationships.
Project Pillars
Strategic Alliances
The initiatives foster long-term relationships with organizations that share challenges and public impact objectives.
Institutional Flexibility
The model allows for the integration of professorships, programs, funds, studies, training activities, and applied projects according to each alliance.
Interdisciplinarity
It brings together capabilities from different academic units to address problems that require complementary perspectives.
Accountability
Each initiative should have objectives, indicators, and evidence of progress that demonstrate value to UC and the partner organization. ###
Why It Transforms Chile
- It creates a more flexible form of collaboration among universities, businesses, the State, foundations, and civil society.
- It allows for addressing complex challenges through training, research, knowledge transfer, and public impact under a single strategy.
- It strengthens UC's capacity to convert alliances into measurable social, academic, and territorial impact.
Who Benefits
Partner organizations, academics, students, UC units, communities linked to each initiative, and public or private sectors that receive applied knowledge. The benefit lies in collaboration and the public impact of its results.
